Loneliness kills...

We are currently living in the United Nations Decade of Healthy Ageing, meaning much current research aims to improve the mental and physical health of the ageing population. Loneliness is particularly prevalent in older adults, with 20-34% of elderly individuals in China, Latin America, the United States and Europe experiencing loneliness.

Loneliness in older adults has been implicated with anxiety, depression, a weakened immune system, heart disease and malnutrition. Malnutrition is of particular concern as is linked to many age related diseases like muscle wasting.

Eat with me aims to combat these issues by providing older adults with a social connection and nutritious meals. Meals will be protein-dense to help promote bone strength and prevent the onset of bone deficiencies like osteoporosis.

Our Goals...

Reduce loneliness and associated malnutrition in older adults across the globe

Reduce healthcare costs spent on older adults

Provide education about the issue of loneliness through our volunteering scheme
